Two Weeks Out: What's Waiting at the 2026 Austin Chicken Wing Festival
Two weeks from Saturday, the Travis County Expo Center fills up with wing makers, live music and a crowd that decides who goes home with the trophies. Here is everything waiting for you on November 7.
By the Austin Chicken Wing Festival team
The 3rd Annual Austin Chicken Wing Festival is Saturday, November 7, 2026, and the countdown is officially in the teens. If you have been meaning to grab tickets, round up the group chat or figure out where you are staying, this is the week to do it.
The essentials
- When: Saturday, November 7, 2026. General admission 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM, VIP early entry at 12:00 PM.
- Where: Travis County Expo Center, 7311 Decker Ln, Austin, TX 78724. The whole festival sits under one covered pavilion, so it runs rain or shine.
- Tickets: online only. There are no sales at the gate.
- Parking: included while supplies last, so arrive early or take a rideshare.
All you can eat, from every vendor
One ticket covers the whole afternoon. Walk the pavilion, try a wing from every booth, then go back for the ones you cannot stop thinking about. There is no time limit and no timed exit.
The rules for the wing makers are simple. It has to be a real chicken wing, so no boneless. Every wing is cooked on site at the vendor's own booth. Vendors bring whatever flavors they want, and some bring four. When a best seller runs out, it is gone for the day, which is the best argument there is for showing up early.
Who is cooking this year? We are keeping the lineup a surprise until the gates open. If you want to see who won last year, our guide to Austin wing spots worth the trip includes the 2025 trophy winners.
You pick the winners
There are 4 trophies on the line this year: People's Choice 1st, 2nd and 3rd, plus Most Outrageous, for the wing that has no business being as good as it is. There is no judges' panel. Every trophy is decided by ticket holders, so taste widely before you vote.
The rest of the afternoon
Live music runs all day. Lew Sid brings “Fried Rice,” the hit song about wings, to the festival that inspired it. Austin cover band Anxious at the Disco plays the songs the whole crowd already knows, and DJ Hellayella and DJ Slyce of KAZI FM hold down the decks in between.
Between rounds you can:
- Claim a free wing tattoo from Supernova Tattoo. Every adult ticket comes with a voucher, while supplies last.
- Find out who in your crew has the fastest lap on the F1 racing simulator from Turn 6 Digital Racetrack.
- Cheer on (or enter) the Wing Eating Contest.
- Shop the local makers market and grab a drink at the full bar.
- Let the kids loose in the Kid Zone and the petting zoo.
Make a weekend out of it
Coming in from out of town, or not up for the late drive home? Wing Fest has an official hotel this year. The Hampton Inn & Home2 Suites Austin East Side 5th Street has a discounted room rate for festival guests, with complimentary breakfast. Rooms are limited and the festival rate runs through November 5.
Picking your ticket
- General Admission ($55.79): all you can eat wings, a vote on every trophy, the tattoo voucher and the whole afternoon from 1:00 PM.
- VIP ($132.26): in at noon, an hour before the crowd, with a dedicated lounge and bar, VIP parking and swag.
- Kids: ages 3 to 17 need a Child's Ticket ($15.99) and must come with a ticketed adult. Under 3 is free.
Prices include fees. All sales are final, but tickets are transferable: if plans change, send your QR code to whoever is going in your place.
Before you head out
- Have your Ticketbud QR code ready on your phone, or print it.
- Bring one sealed water bottle and a small clear bag. Leave chairs, blankets, coolers and outside food at home.
- Bring cash if you plan to shop. Many vendors take cards, but there is no ATM on site.
- Bring a layer. It is November in Austin.
Every ticket does some good, too. A portion of proceeds, plus 100% of donations, goes to The Brooklynn Miller Foundation, helping Austin families facing childhood cancer.
More questions? The festival FAQ covers parking, kids, accessibility and the rest, and the first-timer's guide walks you through the day.
See you on November 7
Come hungry, bring the crew, and help Austin pick a winner.
